Each and every master, regardless of the era or the place, heard the call and attained harmony with heaven and earth. There are many paths leading to the top of Mount Fuji, but there is only one summit - love.

The Meaning of This Quote

This quote, from the famous Zen Buddhist monk Takuan Sōhō, is talking about how, regardless of their culture, or the time period they lived, all great people found a way to be in harmony with the world, or had a connection to the world and its elements. However, this connection was not necessarily the same for all of them, and everyone found their own path to take. In the end, though, it all comes back to the same thing: love. Even though there could be many different paths, they ultimately all lead to the same place, which is love.
