In our fast-forward culture, we have lost the art of eating well. Food is often little more than fuel to pour down the hatch while doing other stuff - surfing the Web, driving, walking along the street. Dining al desko is now the norm in many workplaces. All of this speed takes a toll. Obesity, eating disorders and poor nutrition are rife.

The Meaning of This Quote

In our fast-paced culture, we have not been paying attention to how we eat. Food has become something that is just quickly consumed without thought or time taken to enjoy it. Eating meals at a desk has become common in many working environments. All of this rushing around has had a negative effect: people are obese, have eating disorders, and don’t get proper nutrition.
