In the film world, we can all be heroes. In the real world, where heroism can cost you your life or the life of the ones you love, people aren't so willing to make those sacrifices. When they do, they are set apart from the rest of us.

The Meaning of This Quote

This quote is suggesting that while in the world of film and television we can see characters who have heroic qualities and do heroic things, this isn’t always the case in the real world. People are often unwilling to do what it takes to be a hero, as it may cost them their life or the life of someone they care about. Those who choose to make such a sacrifice, however, are considered special and have a place apart from everyone else.
