It's amazing how these little guys can say things that a mortal human could never get away with. There's some sort of unspoken license... when outlandish things come out of an inanimate object, somehow it equals humor.

This quote refers to how funny it can be when an inanimate object, usually a small toy or figurine, says something that if a human said it, they would be considered rude or inappropriate. There is something humorous and nonthreatening about these toys or figurines saying outrageous or silly things, even though they are not alive and don’t technically have a voice. It’s as if the words coming from the objects have a special “license” because they don’t have the same social implications as if a human said them.
