Letting go means ceasing to hold onto a particular emotion or relationship. It does not mean that we no longer care about the person or situation. It is about understanding that the only person in our lives whom we can control is ourselves. Our actions and emotions should always be guided by ourselves and not by outside influences such as another person or situation. Letting go means making a conscious decision to stop allowing our choices and feelings to be dictated by something over which we have no control.
