You might find me outside with a can of hair spray, spraying it with the hope that the sun will burn a hole in the Earth. Another part of me hopes people will grow up and evolve and get smarter. That's the paradox of Marilyn Manson.

This quote is saying that Marilyn Manson is living in a paradox, or a state of conflicting ideas. He is using hair spray (a kind of aerosol can) outside to try to make the sun burn a hole in the Earth – a seemingly impossible and ridiculous concept. But, at the same time, he is hoping that people will evolve and become smarter. This is in contradiction to trying to harm the Earth, but he believes that if people evolve and get smarter, then a more positive outcome for the planet can be achieved.
